About Growth In Leadership Program
This program is designed to build your leadership capabilities to the next level so you can change your results. The path to greater success may require addressing roadblocks in your business such as tackling stress, burnout, relationship and health concerns or making changes so you can work on your business instead of in it.
Building a more successful business also requires a conscious effort to build a better team or to be more innovative and to lead more effectively. Leadership is about human skills that go hand in hand with the equally important hard skills. We embrace this valuable relationship.
Leadership starts with you and extends outwards to others. We need a mirror to see and understand ourselves. It acts as a lens to see and better understand others. This allows you to make more effective decisions when working with other people and building a high performing culture.
The Growth in Leadership program is conducted in a trusted peer development group. The principles embraced in the ‘Roundtable’ concept are equality, trustworthiness and unity. It is a safe place to challenge, learn and grow with likeminded people. It leverages the power of multiple perspectives, experience and knowledge.
Who Is The Growth In Leadership Program For?
Leadership development is needed across the board – for big and small organisations who want to improve and wisely navigate this rapidly changing environment.
- Business owners / entrepreneurs, executives and team leaders who want to become more effective in their leadership so they can have a greater impact on their business and teams. They are willing and open to challenge themselves, their mindsets and roles and determined to make effective changes to be a better leader
- Board Directors who want their personal impact to extend beyond formal agendas and governance
- Importantly, Leadership development is vital for individuals who are beginning their leadership journey. They may not have a suitable teacher or coach / mentor at their workplace, or the most suitable person in your workplace is unable or unwilling to take on that responsibility
Why Is It Important To Grow In Your Leadership?
Leadership skills are fundamentally human skills. Research informs us that leaders who place an equal emphasis on these human skills with ‘hard skills’ build higher performing cultures and results over the long term compared to leaders who don’t. You can focus on individual factors such as productivity or innovation on their own but harnessing the energy, passion and creativity of all of your people is where the power will come from. That takes effective leadership.
The desire to improve oneself instead of proving oneself, is a quality of a servant leader. Another quality is the development of other leaders. Continuous personal leadership learning and improvement is a bedrock which informs you on the ways to develop others.

Growth In Leadership Program Structure
The program incorporates two key components:
- a diagnostic or assessment component, followed by
- an interactive development component
Our Leadership Launch Point program is the diagnostic or assessment component of this program, except, it is incorporated into this program. It is completed online and establishes the starting point of your journey. If you have completed the Launch Point program separately, you don’t need to do it again.
Click this link to find more detailed information on the Leadership Launch Point program.
The interactive development component is conducted online in a trusted peer development group of no more than 8 participants and a Chair. Your ‘Roundtable’ runs for approximately 12 months and comprises of 2 sessions per month of 2 hours duration each – the sessions are a fortnight apart. A break in the sequence may occur over the Christmas and New Year period.
Nominated elements of the program include monthly coaching or mentoring support and a facilitated workshop with your staff.
In each session we will take you through topics and areas of leadership that inform or challenge your models of the world – personal and business. We will also challenge the effectiveness of the roles you fill and what you bring to the business.
There will be exercises and open forum discussions as well as breakouts where perspectives and experiences can be shared and examined.
Change requires action so you will participate in a peer-based accountability alliance that focuses on embedding the changes you want to make.

Frequently Asked Questions About Growth In Leadership
There are a couple of important steps in this process which have separate commencement timeframes.
- Your application will be reviewed and once it has been accepted the first component of the program can commence as soon as you are ready – that component is the Leadership Launch Point assessments and debrief sessions. These need to be completed before you can join the group component.
- The group component is dependent upon ensuring all of the group members have completed their assessments by a certain date so the program can commence with everyone in sync. This includes allocating members to an appropriate group – see below.
Our process is designed with the start date of the group component in mind and the rest of the activities in support of it.
Groups or teams of different sizes have different dynamics. Getting the right balance takes into account having a broad base of skills and knowledge that can be shared while also achieving a desired level of productivity and effectiveness. Research on the topic indicates that 5 to 8 people allows for the group to be the most productive. Beyond that, the quality of the conversation begins to diminish.
Smaller numbers (3-5) benefit decision making groups and at the other end of the spectrum (8) benefits developmental work, which is our focus.
Importantly, we want to avoid individuals dominating the conversation while also ensuring everyone has an ability to engage and interact fully. Having even numbers (6 or 8) also supports pairs to take part in breakout and buddy exercises.
Just like the number of members in the group, the mix of people is important. That is one of the reasons we have members complete the Leadership Launch Point assessments and debriefs before finalizing the groups. With a deeper understanding of the member, we can be more confident of placing them in a group that will gel and develop well together.
We are conscious that members may be sensitive to being in a group with people who are from the same industry or segment or whose businesses have a formal relationship of some kind. In the first instance they will not be placed in the same group, however, in finalizing a group we will check with members on any sensitivities.
Please refer to our Privacy Policy on this website which outlines our policy on how we will use information you disclose to us as a member and participant in a Business Leaders Roundtable program.
Your application includes a key condition and undertaking to keep any and all information shared in the group setting or in any one-on-one interaction outside of the group, strictly private and confidential. This undertaking applies equally to all members – this ensures you respect and protect other people’s information just as much as they protect your information. This undertaking and commitment is reiterated during the program.
The program is designed to be conducted on-line for reasons set out in the program brief. Exceptions to this approach will be considered if all members of a group are able to meet in one location at the designated session times each month throughout the duration of the program. This may entail a different pricing structure. If this is of interest, please don’t hesitate to enquire.
It is said business is 80% psychology and 20% mechanics (mechanics being the strategies or the 'how' of getting things done). There are so many ways to do things – which we tend to obsess over.
What is best for one is unlikely to be the best for another. No business is the same, yet we tend to look at copying others while expecting better results.
In other words, we notice the visible and not the invisible. The invisible forces happen to be the most powerful forces – forces that come from emotions, beliefs and values. Mechanical aspects invite efficiency while results and growth invite effectiveness and creativity.
Results arise from how we see things, make decisions, shape relationships and simply conduct ourselves in every situation. In a fast moving and changing world we need to have a solid grasp of our own mindset to bring more clarity and certainty to those we lead and more confidence and peace to your business endeavour and journey.
We look into patterns and models that influence results. They sit in the grey zone of leadership and management – so are important either way.
Business operators are always stressed! For business owners who want to make the shift from working in their business to working on it, the shift involves changes in awareness, decision making and then action. Business is multifaceted and complex - requiring teams and systems to function well together. Everything is interconnected and sometimes the interconnections are not obvious. You need to sit above your business, not in it.
The bottom line is, for your business to change, you need to change, and you need to lead others to change, continuously. This requires developing and consistently being mindful of who are being as you make decisions and take action. Your psychology.Apply now
No, your business mindset is just a subset of your personal mindset / operating system.
Unless you have chemical imbalances in your brain, your brain and mind operate the one (complex) system. Your brain is designed to keep you safe and conserve energy. This priority does not favour numerous or conflicting systems because that would result in illness and potentially more serious consequences.
Life is complex, so there will be numerous situational and contextual variations on how you apply behavioral filters, but, on the whole they are consistent. Authenticity is a universally accepted leadership quality. In the program we explore the impact of ‘acting out’ or ‘faking’ in life and business. What is your relationship with authenticity and how does that serve you?
People are familiar with the term, 'lifetime learning'. This is in fact a natural phenomenon that we all embrace when we follow our passions and interests. Learning is a function of our innate adaptability and desire to grow. The term has been used to emphasis the need for continuous preparation and learning, so people and businesses don't get left behind in the rapidly changing environment we live in. A synonym for need is necessity or 'should do'. It also acknowledges the influence of the education systems we have experienced on our attitudes towards learning. A byproduct of this system continues to be courses that primarily impart information as the key ingredient of learning. These have been proven to be ineffective, especially when the driver is a 'should do'.
For learning to be truly effective it needs to be embodied. That means connecting the body (and emotions) to the knowledge / mind. Experiential programs exist that combine content and exercises but they tend to be delivered as a retreat over 2 or more days such as a weekend or longer.
Learning requires repetition and embedding into the nervous system. Creating habits is the outcome of repetition and when they are embedded they become automatic - requiring less conscious attention and energy – which is your brain’s preference. This is the journey of expanding our life and becoming the person we want to be.
Our program goal is to build leadership capabilities through ongoing attention (challenge and awareness) to the key elements as well as activities that will embody them over a 12-month period. Transforming your team and business is a long game - its starts here. Of course, it doesn’t finish here.
Our program format also takes into account the fact that people are already busy at work and in their personal lives. Being disconnected from the business for an extended period may be difficult to overcome and similarly, sacrificing family or other time may be just as challenging. Being engaged in the program as a part of your business commitments is an important connection and it offers rapid access to the topics being covered.
You are responsible for making the changes in your business that will take it to the next level. The program focuses on you and what you need to change in yourself to impact your team and business. Once you make the shifts in you the next step is to work with your team(s) to do the same.
We use universal frameworks that step through the essential thinking, principles, models and factors that identify where we are truly starting from. This lays the foundation to challenge the existing notions of our current trajectory. The goal is to identify where you need to tweak or change direction and work out the steps to achieve that. Effectiveness and results will come down to who you consistently chose to be going forward.
Our program work lays the foundation of a system or framework that you and your team can use every month to navigate your business going forward - tools or dashboards to keep on track. Making and embedding beneficial and sustainable change in your business is an ongoing process. You must lead and be that change.
We leverage the power of multiple viewpoints, perspectives and experience in a group setting. Members work together and hold one another accountable for the actions they commit to. Tapping into diverse insight at a peer level is no different than tapping into diverse insights in your own business. Success is only achieved through teamwork and collaboration - distributed leadership. The era of heroic leaders has passed.
Join a community of likeminded individuals that value challenging, learning, connecting and contributing as much as you do. Your future will thank you for it!
